Geological investigation
Geotechnical (engineering-geological) investigation is a set of
geological and geotechnical research works to develop designs
for various constructions before their building. Geotechnical
investigation is necessary to design safe and economical
foundations for buildings.
Geological investigation is carried out in search for mineral
deposits (sand, sand-gravel, peat, dolomite, etc.), to test their
contents and depths, and to calculate their amounts. As a result
of the work, documents serving as a basis for the development
of sand pits and excavation of sand and gravel are prepared.
